    I'm interested in joining Doorparty, and I've already been accepted, and I
    know this isn't the place, but I'd rather ask here:

    For those of you who know all about using Doorparty on linux:

    Do I need to have root access? I run my BBS on a VPS. I don't have root access. I have node.js installed, but I do not have permission to install NPM. I can upload and edit files but I can't actually install anything.

    Does that sound like a deal-breaker for me running Doorparty?

    You don't need node.js.
