    They are in the area of organized crime.

    It's in the mentality. Even the Mafia know that if they push so hard that the businesses they "protect" go out of business they will have nothing to gain.

    The Elitists don't care. They think that they can take even more resources from someone else.

    Back to Hunter-Gatherer vs. Rancher-Farmer mentality.
