Hello Alan,
So how about other zip suggestions.
There are so many options to zip stuff. When working at the command line
I have been useing Info-Zip's Zip and Unzip since OS/2 many years and now I still use it on linux.
In a lot of cases PKWare's PKZIP and PKUNZIP is a good option too, a lot of software is pre-configured for it.
I am really stuck at the defintion point of the program.
Archiver command lines can be a real PITA. I don't know what software you are trying to configure but I could share what I use with HPT if it would help.
I cannot proceed without them.
In the FTN world it is possible to just use raw .pkt files between nodes, then no archivers are needed but the Info-Zip and PKWARE products are usually workable in my experience although there may be a road to travel there. :)
Ttyl :-), Al
