AB 1043 law that requires age verification even in linux.

I talked to a state legislator about the issue but she was sorta
clueless since almost all of them voted for the hot mess of the law. But
Maybe it will take all of us who live in California to explain to the legislators that the legislation needs to be repealed.

They don't want any anonymity in computing. Which is sick.

Which is the root of "age verification". It's simply the first step in Digital ID - which was soundly rejected by the population.

    Good luck with enforcing that.

Just more proof that there is no Democrats or Republicans. Only the Uniparty and the illusion of choice.

IHMO: I don't think these laws will pass the Constitutional sniff test and, for things like Linux, will be unenforceable.

And don't get me started on how to implement this in FreeDOS (which has already said that it's not possible).
Are they going to make Microsoft make a new version of MS-DOS that supports this? If that's even possible.
    How about CP/M?
MVS? TSO? Are they going to make IBM implement this in their mainframe offerings?

Which is the root of "age
verification". It's simply the first > step in Digital ID - which was sound > rejected by the population.

I would urge you guys to also look at
Project 2025 for the conservative end
of this push to crush anonymity; there
are several passages about using laws
couched in classifying trans people as
    predators and pornographers, which
    necessitate ID and age verification
laws as well; after all, how else can
you legally determine who is a
    "predator" and "pornographer" if you
can't id them and imprison them?
Remember that what is done to the leastof us is done to all of us in the end.

They always pick a group that majority
isn't comfortable with to push laws
that primarily hurt the majority. This
is what that looks like. Trans people,
non-christians, children, drug addicts, the hopelessly indebted, the homeless, non-whites, etc. They talk a big game
then stick the cock directly in your
    ass.

I for one am hoping this law gets
eviscerated in court or, barring that,
we all just treat it like prohibition
    and ignore it.
